Overview

Essential requires your computer to be able to directly communicate with Mojang’s authentication servers to perform properly, separate applications may have altered this behavior to redirect this traffic away from Mojang.

An example of such is pirated versions of Minecraft, as they use different authentication servers than Mojang. So any previous use of a pirated version of Minecraft will cause your ‘hosts’ file to become hijacked.

To continue using Essential to its full potential, we recommend reverting these changes to their original state.
